I hate cliffhangers!

Good book but I absolutely hate cliffhangers! Who knows when the next book will be released and that will probably have another cliffhanger. If you are going to write a book wait to release it until it's finished.

Explosive Chemistry!

Alyssa Maxwell and Luke Rockford together are like a package of dynamite-explosive chemistry! He is trying to buy up land in Maine to create a luxury golf course, spa, etc. Alyssa's Dad is the last hold out and refuses to sell at any cost. The land has been in his family forever. Luke meets Alyssa while she is working at the diner. Her Mom died over 5 years ago and at 16 she dropped out of school to help her Dad on their farm. Luke overhears another customer talking about her Dad not selling and realizes who she is and that doesn't stop him from wanting her; however, he only identifies himself to her as Luke. Needless to say she finds out who he is and she is angry/hurt. This doesn't keep Luke from getting what he wants because he always does. This series has started off with some of the most intense, HOT scenes and I cannot wait for book 2! Well done Ms. London!

Warning: Naive Heroine & Cliffhanger Ahead! Proceed With Caution.

I liked the writing style of the author so I'll probably continue this serial. What I didn't like was the characters. Being the first part, it was hard to connect with the Luke and Alyssa. We hardly know anything about them. Luke came off cold and calculating. Alyssa was just too naive. This installment was 90% of them hooking up and having sex. The plot was very weak. Hopefully, things pick up in the next installments.

The larger versions "Mini~Me"!==>Physical Therapist Approved!

1.Pocket Stretching Book is a perfect size for my gym bag. I put it in a zip lock bag to keep it nice.
2.My brother is a Chiropractor and he gave me the larger version over twenty years ago.
3.I used it so much, that years later I had to take it to an office supply store to have them hole punch and add a plastic binder down the spine of the book. I actually liked it better because it laid out flat.
4.My Physical Therapist was very impressed with this book and its size.
5.She was able to tag the stretches that were perfect for my situation/injury.

Great great book for me. I recently started doing yoga and come to find out I'm not all as flexible as I thought when doing some poses.

The publication of the three volumes of “Pei Mei’s Chinese Cookbook,” in 1969, 1974, and 1979 were the first to teach authentic regional style Chinese cooking to the public. The three volumes became de rigueur for every bride, and copies, often with hand-written notes in the margins, have been passed down from mother to daughter to granddaughter in both China and the United States for years.

The first volume begins with a basic introduction to Chinese ingredients. It than divides its recipes regionally by China’s North, East, South, and West (Shanghai, Canton, Szechuan and Peking) with 25 recipes for each group and an additional twenty snacks and desserts. This provides an excellent introduction to the incredible variety of Chinese recipes.

In the second volume, recipes are arranged according to their main ingredients, starting with chicken, moving through duck, pork, beef, fish, seafood, eggs and bean curd and vegetables, with separate chapters for soups, noodles and desserts. Each recipe is illustrated with a full-color photograph, explanatory notes, and illustrations on Chinese ingredients and techniques.

The third volume is organized regionally, specific to specific provinces such as Kiang-Che, Canton, Szu-Chuan, Pei-Ping, Hu-Nam, Fu-Kien, and Taiwan. It describes dishes for formal dinners and banquets, along with instructions on how to present and conduct a formal dinner.

New to the 2010 Editions

The original editions of Pei-Mei’s Chinese Cookbook Volume I, II and III had alternate Chinese and English pages. These electronic books contain only the English portion of the text since Apple’s implementation of ePub as of July 2010 does not support having both English and Chinese characters in the same document. Electronic books have no page numbers, instead the recipes in the index have bi-directional hypertext links, as do the sample menus. References to specific recipes within the text also have uni-directional hypertext links. The original books had all of their illustrations grouped together—in these ePub books, each illustration has been moved to the appropriate recipe. The usage of abbreviations has been minimized.

Examination of the vegetable photographs and the Chinese text revealed many incorrect translations, e.g. turnip instead of daikon radish, green lettuce instead of bok choy. There were also many instances where the Chinese version of the recipe differed from the English version. Through the efforts of Martha Dahlen (annotations) and Paul Eng (translations), the English text of these ePub books has been updated to be more consistent with the original Chinese text.

Volume III suggests many recipes in Volume I and II as alternatives for banquet dishes. A new index has been added to facilitate accessing these recipes in volumes I and II.

I love Pei Mei

I love Pei Mei ! My cookbook have fallen apart since I got it back in the 70's. So when I saw this on Kindle I purchased it immediately , The layout that on the kindle is perfectly done. I wish you have Volume 1 ad 3. Pei Mei in the 70's is like the Paula Deen of Taiwan. I have several chinese cookboks like complete volume of weichuan , Pei Mei cooks authentic Chinese that you rarely find in American Chinese
Restaurant. It s not fusion food,.Its down to earth Chinese . . Weichuan cookbook are great but Pei Mei is even better. I have probably 30 to 40 different chinese cookbook. And nothing beats Pei Mei.

Best known for their contributions to architecture, furniture design (especially the Eames chair), industrial design, film and photography, Charles and Ray Eames remain among the most renowned American designers of the twentieth century. The couple married in 1941 and moved to California, where they pursued their furniture design in molded plywood. During the war they were commissioned by the U.S. Navy to produce molded plywood splints, stretchers and experimental glider shells. In 1946, Evans Products began producing the Eames' molded plywood furniture. Their iconic molded plywood chair was called "the chair of the century" by the influential architectural critic Esther McCoy.
In 1949, Charles and Ray designed and built their own home in Pacific Palisades, their design and imaginative use of materials making this house a mecca for architects and designers internationally. Today it is considered one of the most important postwar residences built anywhere in the world. After the war, the Eames continued to create new furniture designs, such as the Fiberglass Chairs (1950), the famous Lounge Chair and Ottoman (1956), the Time Life stool (1960), the 3473 sofa (1964) and the seating for Dulles and O'Hare airports--a design still in use in lounges around the world today. In the 70s they expanded their operations into cinema, producing many beautiful short films. Charles and Ray received honorary degrees and awards from universities and organizations across the country. The Eames Office still operates today.
