Do not waste your money on this book.

I had high hopes for this book, but I didn't do my due diligence. Neural Networks are complicated structures and algorythms, and if you know nothing going into it, you will be lost. This book has exactly ONE diagram in the entire book. In the interests of professionalism in computer book publishing, the author and/or editors should be ostracized for both making the text easier to read. Code examples in a giant font and bolded, I hate looking at the pages. The initial explanations are terrible, with little or no background before jumping into practice. "Ok, now define the sigmoid function this way....". Huh? Why? What am I doing here? I have some background understanding of neural nets and I'm still lost and confused. This booklet (barely 92 pages) actually reads like someone's notes from a college course on neural nets that were just dumped j to a word doc and published. ☹️

Excellent book. I like this. This book totally great. our aim is to feed input at the input layer, and then wait for the output at the output layer, and determine the amount of error in the network, This should result in adjusting of the weights. I highly recommend this. By the way, I have enjoyed this.

Great old text

I found this a very informative, and instructive manual in the hobby, as practiced at the turn of the 20th century. It builds a great foundation on which to learn the technology of the steam engine. It is very basic in its approach, and it is some what hard to follow sometimes for those not familiar with the writing style, or terminology of that earlier period. Very much worth the effort as well as a lot of fun to read.

Good to read but most of the projects were made from castings that are no longer available. But the projects could be made from bar stock. Still a nice book for someone into model making.

Great Books for Tweens!

I bought all three books from this series for my daughter and she read all three in less then 5 days! She couldn't put them down and absolutely LOVED them! She is 10 so I think between 10-13 are good ages for this series! Happy Reading!

Great kids read, would be nice paired with book

Great tween read for boys and girls, very creative and fun reading. I love that the characters are not your typical polished girls. They are very mature for their ages but have moments of angst.

Really great and imaginative series, love paranormal ghosties! The books have a great flow, they are perfect for middle readers. The story always moves at a steady pace and gives you everything you need to solve the mystery. This is great for junior sleuths out there.

Kat and Jac have a great friendship, they have rocky moments like anybody, but they work things out. It really is a great model for kids who have best friends and how to deal with issues. I love the way grown ups explain things without talking down to the kids. They also try to let them work things out on their own.

We do come into a few boy issues in this book. Thankfully it isn't heavy on the crushing. But I will warn any boys the feelings start to get a little gushy every now and again.

I am very happy we are finally addressing the darker spirits Kat keeps encountering. It has been annoying to see them mentioned in earlier books and never resolved. I am hoping the next book takes things back to the school and that dark entity. While it gets a little scary with the ghosts, it never travels to full on horror.

I listened to the audiobooks narrated by Allyson Ryan, who is terrific. She has a real feel for the quirky nature of the characters and it comes through in the voices. She makes great choices in the speed and energy of the read. There could be a little more diversity in the types of voices, a little more distinct would be nice. I really like her style and love the way she compliments this series.

Overall this is a great book, as an adult I was entertained, so I am sure kids will love this. Great pace and fabulous characters. Might not be for folks who are against New Age Philosophies.

Simpson at his best, compelling and honest.

Joe Simpson's writing is compelling, lucid and interesting. As in his previous writing he is refreshingly honest in his story telling of both facts and feelings.
The book deals mostly with the 1938 route on the North face of the Eiger. The historical details alone make this book a must read for mountaineering buffs. But, more importantly Simpson explores the interplay between mountaineering experience and the objective dangers of climbing in big mountains. The balance he contrasts is between the extreme satisfaction of being in the mountains and climbing at standards that challenge, with the feelings of those involved, including concerns over route conditions internal motivation and personal performance.
In days when we are increasingly fed a diet of what I call "Dare and Scare", or "Mountaineering Rubbernecking Exploitation" books, Simpson had written a sensitive personal account that anyone who has ever had the urge for adventure will relate to. I couldn't put it down. Bravo Joe!

A Very Good Read

I've enjoyed every one of Simpson's books that I've read. It's hard to say why -- maybe it's because his books seem more personal than others or maybe it's because his books tend to ramble in a personal way that cover a lot of ground -- from personal to philosophical and then to the side of the mountain. At any rate, this book starts with a climb in the Andes and a near call with a collapsing serac and Simpson's increasing sense of his own mortality. For some people, this would be called a mid-life crisis and Simpson explores the impact of this realization on his own endeavors. Unlike other people, though, Simpson decides to climb the classic route up the North Face of the Eiger. As he prepares for the climb, he reflects on some of the historic efforts in the 1930s -- and then as he details his climb, he relates the stops and efforts to the history. In fact, he revels in the history as he ticks off some of the stops on the route. I get the sense that we haven't heard the last of Simpson yet.

This should be the second of Simpson's books to read after Touching The Void.

Chapter One - Introduction – Why QuickBooks Online?
Why QuickBooks online? Isn’t that an awful program? I’ve heard many people say that over the years including myself. But in 2014 when I took my certification exams in QuickBooks to be an Online Pro advisor I began to like the Online Version. It took me a little time to learn it but now I find it very easy to use.

Why listen to me? I bought my first 4 unit building in 1973. In 1979, being a computer programmer I wrote a Property Management system on a Radio Shack PC.
Two year later I wrote another one on a multi user system with a partner. That company still exists today and specializes in commercial property management.

In 2002 when QuickBooks announced their development program I quickly wrote a Property Management System http://www.MyProp.us connected to QuickBooks Desktop When I saw the way it was structured with Location that you could call properties and also still have classes, I thought this could really work for Property Management.

The program still needs more custom fields to store Tenant data and things like that but that will come. Hopefully I’ve convinced you to spend some time looking at the possibilities. It’s easy to use and will save you money in the future. Think of it no more IT guy to call when the system goes down. A resident manager can connect up and you’ll know instantly when a new Tenant move in, pays rent etc..

This book is not designed to teach you QBO. What it will teach you is how to use the online version to manage your properties efficiently. I will be going over some of the features I like along the way. You are required to have at least a working knowledge of QuickBooks Online to really get how this works. There are many online courses and tutorials on the net to do this. But give QBO a try; eventually you’ll really love it. Here’s a link to get started.

If you’ve used QuickBooks Desktop for any type of accounting, including Property Management, you know what classes are. It is a means to be able to distinguish data from one entity to the next for reporting purposes.

For Property Management purposes we want to be able to separate income and expenses by Building. In some states bookkeepers and Accountants require that you set up a separate QuickBooks Company for each building, especially for LLC’s. In that case you won’t need to separate your data as all reports for buildings, profit and balance sheet will
only have one buildings data.

But if you want to manage multiple properties using one QuickBooks Company you will need to use Locations rather than classes. The problem with using classes is that are entered on the detail section of a transaction, where location get entered on the header. A side benefit is you can change the name of location to Property which makes much more sense.

It’s possible that classes could be used to categorize expenses by unit. We tried that with www.MyProp.us but users made too many errors by forgetting to put the correct link in.
